People screw these up all the time and confuse everyone else. Such as “CPS”. I don’t know if you’re talking about your clutch position sensor, cam position sensor, crank position sensor, or creepy priest Steve. So I found this really good list to share with you all.

And a couple others I didn’t see on there:
MIL = malfunction indicator lamp
HFM = hot film mass [air flow sensor]
CAN = controller area network
MOST = media oriented system transport (fiber optics)
LIN = local interconnect network
I’m sure there are more, but this list will make people think you’re much smarter when it comes to cars than you actually are. Have an M178 training model for your time.

It’s a very extensive list. Folks like me are just having a bit of fun being persnickety. A truly exhaustive list might get difficult to use, like the Oxford English Dictionary - Unabridged.

I have no understanding of jokes either. I’m an engineer, and therefore I’m totally committed to accuracy in all things.
...except for all that stuff. I don't care about that other stuff. It's not technical.
